NAVIGATION ASSISTED PRIMARY TOTAL KNEE ARTHROPLASTY SIXTEEN YEARS AFTER GAINT CELL TUMOR DISTAL FEMORAL CEMENT AUGMENTATION.

We present a case of primary total knee replacement with navigation assistance in 16yrs follow up of distal femur gaint cell tumor treatment with curettage and cementation. A previous case report of similar case was done with conventional technique where they mentioned that use of navigation could have potentially made the case even easier by avoiding the need for an intramedullary femoral rod. Theoretical contamination of the femoral canal by residual tumor would have been prevented by using navigation. Hence navigation was used in our case and the possiblity of cement augment loosening with drilling intramedullary canal was also ruledout. Given the ease of navigation assistance, we feel the distal femoral gaint cell tumor with cementmentation it the safe method.
