The Asia Pacific Arthroplasty Society (APAS) is thrilled to announce the continuation of its prestigious fellowship programs, designed to foster international collaboration and advanced learning in the field of Arthroplasty - the APAS Travelling Fellowship, generously sponsored by J&J Depuy Synthes, and the APAS Women in Arthroplasty Fellowship, supported by Zimmer Biomet. These programs offer unparalleled opportunities for our fellows to engage with some of the most successful and prolific surgeons across the APAC region.
Sponsored by J&J Depuy Synthes, the APAS Travelling Fellowship aims to provide emerging arthroplasty surgeons with extensive experience and global exposure. This year, we have selected two outstanding fellows (Dr Mayank Mahendra and Dr Aditya Seth) who have commenced their travels internationally, gaining invaluable insights and skills from top surgeons in the field. Their journey will include visits to leading medical centres in Sydney, Jakarta, Surabaya, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai where they will participate in complex surgical procedures, attend educational seminars, and entertain collaborative research projects
In an effort to support and empower women in the field of arthroplasty, the APAS Women in Arthroplasty (WiA) Fellowship, sponsored by Zimmer Biomet, focuses on fostering female leadership and expertise in this specialised area. This initiative has selected two remarkable women (Dr Juilee Mhatre and Dr Mariam Zaighum) who will embark on a transformative journey, interacting with renowned surgeons and mentors throughout the APAC region. Through this fellowship, they will not only enhance their surgical skills but also build a network of professional relationships that will support their careers long-term. Their paths will vary a little but will include combination of visits to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Jakarta, Bandung, Manila, Cebu, Kuala Lumpur and Mumbai.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the mentors who have generously contributed their time and expertise to host our fellows. Your dedication to teaching and mentoring the next generation of surgeons is invaluable, and your commitment to advancing the field of arthroplasty is truly inspiring.
We also want to express our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, J&J Depuy Synthes and Zimmer Biomet. Your unwavering support of the APAS vision to enhance global connections and advanced learning is crucial to the success of these fellowship programs. Your contributions make it possible for our fellows to gain the knowledge and experience they need to become leaders in the field.
As our fellows embark on their international journeys, we are confident that they will return with enriched perspectives and enhanced skills, ready to contribute to the global advancement of arthroplasty. We look forward to sharing their experiences and achievements at the 24th Annual Scientific Meeting in Mumbai next month!
Stay tuned for updates on our fellows' travels and accomplishments. Together, we continue to shape the future of arthroplasty, one fellowship at a time.
Best regards,
